I am a freelance theatre director who has directed productions for a range of West Midlands companies at venues including The Other Place, RSC; The Door, Birmingham Rep; The Swan Theatre, Worcester; The Cheltenham Everyman; the Attic Theatre, Stratford-Upon-Avon; plus many touring and outdoor productions, as well as working extensively on new writing projects with Malvern Theatres’ Writer In Residence, and directing new plays for Malvern Theatre’s main house stages.
I’m a text based director who is equally happy collaborating with a writer on developing a new piece of work, or delving into a contemporary or classic play. I enjoy exploring world, character and text by approaching each play on it’s own terms and discovering what larger questions the play is asking and what makes it essential for today.
I trained as an actor, and I'm a qualified teacher and have a full DBS for my work as a performance coach and acting teacher.
